Ingredients

Scale

3 cupsall-purpose flour
1 1/2 cupswarm water
1 1/2 tspinstant yeast
1 1/2 tspsalt
1 cupfreshly grated Parmesan cheese
3cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
Add the warm water, minced garlic, and 3/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese to the bowl.
Stir until a shaggy, sticky dough forms.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) with a Dutch oven inside for at least 30 minutes.
Shape the dough on a floured surface into a ball and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven.
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 10-15 minutes until deep golden brown.

Notes

For a milder, sweeter flavor, try substituting fresh garlic with roasted garlic. Use a high-quality Parmesan cheese to ensure the best melting consistency. You can store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze it for up to a month.
